Kathmandu: The 1.5 million doses of vaccine provided by the United States of America to Nepal under the Covacuation Program will arrive in Kathmandu this week.
Anna Richlin, a spokesperson for the US Embassy in Kathmandu, also confirmed that the vaccine will be arriving soon. “This is a gift from the American people to the Nepalese people,” she said, “We will give detailed information about this very soon.”
The vaccine, produced by the American company Johnson & Johnson, requires only a single dose.
The government recently signed an agreement with Chinese company Sinopharm to buy four million doses of the Verocel vaccine. Accordingly, 800,000 doses of vaccine have been brought to Kathmandu on Friday alone. Two million will arrive by July 22.
