WHO provides amphotericin ‘B’ medicine to Nepal

Kathmandu: The World Health Organization (WHO) has sent amphotericin ‘B’, a drug used to treat black fungus, for Nepal.

At the request of Nepal, WHO has sent one thousand vials of amphotericin ‘B’ to Nepal. One thousand vials sent by WHO have arrived in Nepal. The government had requested the World Health Organization to send medicine as soon as possible after the outbreak of black fungus in Nepal.

Recently, black fungus also known as mucormycosis infection has been detected on a few covid recovered patients in Nepal.
