Teachers and public transport drivers and co-drivers to be vaccinated

Kathmandu: Teachers and public transport drivers and co-drivers will also be able to get the corona vaccine.

Of the two million doses purchased by Nepal from India’s Serum Institute, one million doses of vaccine arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday.

The day before, on Saturday, the Ministry of Health and Population decided to vaccinate other employees working in the pharmacy, laboratory and cleaning staff in the first phase. They are getting vaccinated on February 21 and 22.

Similarly, college professors, teachers and staff, public transport drivers and co-drivers will be able to get corona vaccine from March 7. The ministry has already decided to vaccinate senior citizens from March 7.

Nepal had started the corona vaccination campaign on January 27 after the Indian government provided one million doses of the vaccine. China has also announced to provide 500,000 doses. However, the vaccine has not yet arrived.
