PM Oli ready to hold secretariat meeting

Kathmandu: A meeting of the Secretariat of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) is scheduled to be held on Friday.

The meeting of the secretariat has been scheduled for 4 pm on Friday. According to the CPN (Maoist) constitution, the secretariat meeting will be convened by the secretary general in consultation with the two chairpersons.

Earlier, Secretariat members Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Nepal, Bamdev Gautam and Narayan Kaji Shrestha, along with Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, had written to Prime Minister Oli, who is also the chairman, to convene a meeting after informal discussions.

Chairman Oli did not seem to agree to convene a meeting of the secretariat. Disputes within the CPN (Maoist) have been escalating due to the appointment of an ambassador, reshuffle of the Council of Ministers and a no-confidence motion against the Karnali Chief Minister.
