Kathmandu: Nepali Congress has assigned a party leader to study the rape and murder case of Bhagarathi Bhatta of Baitadi.
According to spokesperson Bishwaprakash Sharma, Central Member Ramesh Lekhak has been sent to conduct a field study, meet the locals and their families and submit a written report. He has departed for Baitadi on Firday.
The Congress has said that the fact that the culprit has not been arrested until the second week of the incident has added a pain to the family.
The party has also demanded the Prime Minister to expedite the investigation, arrest the culprits immediately and make the existence of the state effective against all incidents across the country.
