Nepal Airlines to cut off all foreign pilots

Kathmandu: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is preparing to cut off all foreign pilots currently working on contract basis. Newly appointed NAC general manager Dim Prasad Poudel has said that the processes have taken forth to remove all foreign pilots within six months. According to him, only six foreign pilots are currently working for the remaining contract period. NAC is facing criticism for keeping foreign pilots paying high amount though the corporation has not flown its aircraft since long.
Even during the pandemic, NAC has been criticised for deploying foreign pilots mostly for the repatriation flights holding Nepali pilots. In course of cost management and to cope with the crisis created by Covid-19 pandemic, NAC has already removed more than 100 staffers working on contract.
