MCC Vice President meets Finance Minister

Kathmandu: Vice President of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Fatima Sumar has called on Finance Minister Janardan Sharma. Vice President Sumar and Finance Minister Sharma met at the Finance Ministry in Singha Durbar on Saturday.

Arriving in Kathmandu on Thursday, Sumar had earlier met the Chairman of the main opposition party CPN-UML and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of the CPN-Unified Socialist Party and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Chairman of the Federal Council of Janata Samajwadi Party. She had met Baburam Bhattarai and another chairman Upendra Yadav.

During the meeting on Saturday, Vice President Sumar requested the parliament to approve the MCC as soon as possible and implement it, according to the Finance Minister’s Secretariat. In response, Finance Minister Sharma said that the issue of approving MCC or not is under discussion now.
