Kathmandu: Newly appointed Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has said that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement is in Nepal’s favor and it should be implemented.
Talking to media persons after taking office on Sunday, Energy Minister Rayamajhi requested for assistance in the implementation of MCC. “I do not believe it is a crime or a military strike,” he said, adding that there were points in the agreement that could weaken the country’s self-esteem.
He said that every previous government has been approving the MCC, adding that it should be approved now. He said, ‘MCC should not be implemented as it as we can amend some points as per our requirement.”
