Large number of police deployed in Kathmandu

Kathmandu: A large number of police have been deployed in Kathmandu in view of possible incidents after the dissolution of the parliament by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The presence of security personnel has been increased in the streets around Singha Durbar, Maitighar, New Baneshwor, Baluwatar, Sheetal Niwas, around the Election Commission and other crowded places. The Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, has informed that the presence of security personnel has been increased considering the security situation.

Meanwhile, the situation after the dissolution of the parliament was discussed at the army headquarters in Bhadrakali on Sunday afternoon. According to military sources, the headquarters has sent information to the patrols, gulmas and barracks across the country to remain vigilant.

A military source said that they are preparing for the operation as per the instructions coming from the government.
