High alert at Rasuwagadhi and Tatopani checkpoints

Kathmandu: As the corona infection is on the rise across the country, high security alert has been adopted at the northern trade ports. Stating that Nepal should adopt maximum security to facilitate trade, the entry of outsiders into Tatopani and Rasuwagadhi has been stopped following the request of the Chinese administration, according to the customs offices.

The Rasuwagadhi Customs Office has stated that people are not allowed to enter from 1.5 km from Rasuwagadhi checkpoint. According to the office, only the manpower who have completed the vaccination, are in the quarantine and are involved in trade are at the checkpoint.

Meanwhile, the customs office has stated that trade has been facilitated by adopting high-security alert at Tatopani, another gateway of Nepal-China trade. According to the customs office, the drivers of the containers and all the staff assigned for loading and unloading have been kept under mandatory quarantine and PPE and body temperature measurement have been made mandatory.
