Health ministry alerts about third and fourth wave of covid-19

Kathmandu: The government has instructed hospitals to set aside 20 percent of beds for the treatment of corona-infected children.

Issuing a press statement today, Ministry of Health and Population, has requested the hospitals to keep at least 20 percent of approved beds ready for use in the treatment of covid-19 infected children.

Stating that the first and second wave of corona epidemic has infected more adults and youth, the ministry said that the preparations for control have been targeted only at adults and youth, adding that children could be more infected in the third and fourth wave.

The ministry has also directed the hospitals to manage the oxygen for the treatment. While the first wave of covid-19 is moving towards control, the second wave has disturbed the health sector, the ministry said, adding that the situation is under control somehow.
