Govt to ready to purchase 2 mn covid-19 vaccines

Kathmandu: Nepal government has paved the way to purchase two million doses of corona vaccine.

Minister for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathi said that the vaccine will reach Nepal in the last week of February or the first week of March.

Three weeks ago, the government and the Serum Institute of India had agreed to buy two million vaccines. According to Minister Tripathi, Serum had agreed to vaccinate at four dollars per dose with the coordination of the Indian authority.

But no agreement has reached on devotion. Serum said the vaccine would be given only after all the money was paid. “Because of our Public Procurement Act, the cabinet has paved the way for that to happen,” said Minister Tripathi. After paying the remaining amount, the vaccine will arrive. ‘

The government is ready to vaccinate citizens above the age of 55. The ministry is preparing to implement it from March 7.
