Govt to distribute identity card to poor households

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation have decided to complete the work of identification and distribution of identity cards to the poor households by mid-July, 2021.
In a meeting held at the Ministry of Finance today, it was decided that the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation will make necessary arrangements for the distribution of identity cards to the poor households within the current Fiscal Year 2020/2021.
The meeting also decided that the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation will prepare a time bound schedule including activities to distribute identity cards to the poor households within a week.
Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel said that there was a problem in running relief and concessional programs on behalf of the state due to lack of data on the poor and deprived sections and the distribution work was not fruitful.
He said that the poor household identity card would provide special assistance to the targeted and deprived people in relief, concessions, employment, social security and other programs. Expressed confidence to be.
