Kathmandu: The government has removed private hospitals from the list of covid Hospitals.
The Ministry of Health and Population has removed all private hospitals except medical colleges from the list of covidi hospitals as the number of corona infections has been declining.
According to Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the health ministry, the private hospitals that were earlier on the list of covid Hospitals have decided to reimburse only the treatment cost of the corona infected. In addition, corona infections will now be treated only by government hospitals and medical colleges.
The ministry has also stopped providing samples collected from the government to private laboratories for PCR testing.
Sunday’s meeting of the Incident Command System under the ministry has decided to perform gene sequencing if the corona is confirmed by testing the PCRs of 277 returnees from various countries, including the UK.
A new type of coronavirus has been found in various countries including the United Kingdom, so those who come to Nepal from such countries may also be tested for the new type of corona, said ministry spokesperson Gautam.
