Five secretariat members of CPN including executive chairman Prachanda demanding to convene a meeting

Kathmadnu: Five members of the Secretariat, including Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, have handed over a written letter to the Prime Minister and Chairman KP Sharma Oli demanding a secretariat meeting.
As per the decision of the informal secretariat meeting yesterday, Chairman Prachanda and another chairman Oli have been requested to convene the meeting. In a letter to Chairman Oli, spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that a meeting should be convened to review the ongoing activities of Covid-19 pandemic and discuss the implementation of the party’s decision.
Along with Executive Chairman Prachanda, senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam and spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha had reached Baluwatar for discussions.
The two party chairman have been at loggerheads for several months over running the party and the government. The tension within the CPN (Maoist) has increased again.
Chairman Oli has not given any conclusion about the meeting today. Spokesperson Shrestha informed that he has requested to hold a meeting till tomorrow, if not tomorrow, to have a serious discussion.
