Kathmandu: Rajiv Gurung (Deepak), a member of Gandaki Province Assembly from Manang B constituency, has been appointed as the Youth and Sports Minister of the province. He is being sworn in as a minister by Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung.
The Ministry of Social Development is being split and Manange is being made the Sports Minister.
Earlier, two Gurung-led Maoist ministers had resigned.
The Maoists led the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law.
Rajiv, who had earlier been a member of the Finance and Development Committee of the province assembly, had resigned from the committee in October last year.
