Kathmandu: Nepal’s national cricket team head coach Dave Whatmore has resigned. Arriving in Oman to play in the World Cricket League 2 triangular series, he submitted his resignation to the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) via email.

CAN has confirmed the resignation of head coach Whatmore. He has mentioned that he wants to take leave from the head coach of the triangular series of Nepal, USA and Oman which will be held from September 13 to 20.

In his resignation letter, he said that it was not appropriate to stay away from his family during the pandemic. Thus, citing personal issues he has resigned from the post.

Whatmore, who helped Sri Lanka win the World Cup, was Singapore’s coach before coming to Nepal. He was in the latter part of his training career and wanted to make a good impression in Nepal. But it did not happen in Nepal as expected.
