Corona kills 23 Nepalis in abroad including 20 in India

Kathmandu (Rashtriya Samachar Samiti): 0Twenty-three Nepalis, including 20 in India, have died due to corona infection.

According to Dr. Sanjeev Sapkota, coordinator of the health committee under the Non-Resident Nepali Association, the death rate has increased due to the increasing outbreak of corona virus in various countries including India.

According to the Health Committee of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, 20 Nepalis have died in India this year, two in Kuwait and one in Qatar. According to Dr. Sagar Poudel of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, a member of the Health Committee in New Delhi, India, a total of 20 Nepalis have died, including 10 in New Delhi, India and another 10 in other parts of India.

Most of the victims are under 50 years of age. At the same time, 372 Nepalis have died due to the infection in 21 countries of the world so far. Of those killed so far, 245 have been in the Middle East.

So far, the number of Nepalis infected with COVID-19 has reached 68,506 in 54 countries of the world. Out of the total infected, 94.6 percent or 64,744 people have been infected.

This year, Nepalis living in India, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Romania, Russia, Finland, Denmark, Czech Republic and Poland have been infected with more corona viruses, said Chiran Sharma, press coordinator of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, COVID-19.

Of the 297,087 infected people in Nepal so far, 93.3 percent or 277,123 have been infected. As many as 3,136 people have died due to the infection till Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, unveiling the annual report on Monday, Health Committee Coordinator Dr Sanjeev Sapkota said 250 doctors and nurses had been mobilized during the epidemic. According to him, there are about 5,000 doctors and 15,000 nurses outside Nepal. He said efforts were being made to connect all those health workers to the NRN.
