Cabinet approves to purchase fertilizer directly from Bangladesh through G2G

Kathmandu: The cabinet meeting has decided to give approval to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to purchase 50,000 metric tonnes of urea fertilizer from Bangladesh through government to government process.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, it will be easier to purchase 50,000 metric tonnes of urea fertilizer through G2G after the latest decision of the Council of Ministers on December 28.

Following the decision of the Council of Ministers, the Agricultural Input Company Limited will now start soliciting prices from the government company of Bangladesh for the purchase of fertilizer.

The cabinet meeting held on November 28 had decided to direct the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to bring manure through GTG competition. In the proposal submitted to the Council of Ministers by the Ministry in the second half of October, it was mentioned that the agreement to buy fertilizer should be approved and the authority should be passed.
