40 Chinese-assisted ventilators to arrive within a week

Kathmandu: After bringing 400 Chinese cylinders of oxygen cylinders and 10 ventilators to Nepal by air, China will provide additional 40 units of ventilators and other health items.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese government is providing 40 units of ventilators, 20 units of automated analyzers, 10 units of DR machines, 20 units of portable ultrasound and 30 units of anesthesia machines. According to the COVID-19 facilitation committee headed by the Chief Secretary, these health items will arrive at the the Tatopani checkpoint within a week.

According to the committee, out of the Chinese subsidized health items, 400 units of oxygen cylinders and 10 units of ventilators will be brought to Nepal by air.

At a time when the second wave of corona infections is becoming more difficult to control, the government has continued to seek international support.

A few days after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli called on the international community for help, Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel has requested the United Nations to make available the vaccine against corona available to Nepal under the Covax facility as soon as possible.
